This is an old authentic (not produced for tourists and worn by naga people) necklace from Nagaland in Northeastern India. Beautiful red glass trade beads to such a stunning and lovely effect! This necklace has 30 strands with a wonderful beaded pattern at the closure. The closure is a pair of old coin buttons.
This necklace is in very good, sturdy condition to be worn or collected. Please note that the closure has been repaired.
Nagaland is home to some of the most amazing tribal dress. The Naga people practiced headhunting through the 1900s and may still in parts of Burma! Do a google image search for Naga people for a visual feast.
These are becoming increasingly rare and hard to find.
