This is a perfectly wonderful handmade textile from Madagascar. Soft hand-spun, hand-dyed and handwoven raw silk textiles produced from silkworm pods raised on a small scale by the artisans. Spectacular colors and wonderful drape. These make great wraps. They work well as big scarf/hood, they look fabulous as a throw for the couch. I have several of these and each is slightly different so check out this section of my shop for more, to compare.
This is huipil made from an older pre 1980s Chichicastenango huipil and natural silk velvet. Absolutely phenomenal color way! The huipil is a now rare wool embroidered piece. These are no longer produced in this region.

The cost of the dress is just enough to cover the materials, the labor that went into it and the fees to sell it.
This poncho come from the Highlands of Chiapas, a village called San Andres Larrainzar. Not a traditional garment but a completely fabulous modern design using the traditional San Andres Larrainzar style of weaving. Wonderful color way.
