These blouses, called huipiles, because of the shape, are iconic of the Isthmus of Oaxaca. They are still worn by many Zapotec women of the coast there.
Tehuana huipiles of this type are of the everyday variety as opposed to those worn to galas and ceremonies.
One of the nice things about these is how easy it is to adjust the size. One line of stitching on either side does the trick.
Currently this one has these measurements:
Chest 23"
Length 23"
It is a size med now but the chest measurement could be increased to 25”.
If you are interested google Tehuana culture as it is fascinating. A matriarchal society where the feminine ideal is a strong woman of some girth! It is common in the istmo of Mexico to see these huipiles worn proudly displaying a big beautiful belly beneath.
