Vintage Guatemalan Huipil Blouse. Santa Apolonia. Hand-Woven

This is a beautiful Santa Apolonia huipil. The post-1980 daily huipil has a base of a white cotton commercial fabric known as “manta”. The decoration is hand embroidered “carefully executed to look like brocade. The head and arm openings are trimmed with hand embroidered designs unique to Santa Apolonia. Santa Apolonia huipils are increasingly rare.
