An unusual and beautiful huipil. I have never seen another one like it. It was hand woven on a back strap loom in two soft panels of a rayon material called aleman that is prized for its drape. decorated by bird motifs. The embroidery is done in rayon and silk. It is in very good condition. Please notice that there remains slight bleeding from the embroidery.
A gorgeous handwoven huipil from the Amuzgo people of Guerrero. It is made of hand spun cotton in it's natural colors. Truly masterful weaving and a very special garment. This huipil is a masterpiece of an accomplished artisan.
This one has these measurements: Chest 29" Length 51"
