This circa-1970 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton panels that are joined by embroidered seams. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade that features plumed serpent and geometric motifs. This is the kind of textile I love, fine, beautiful work that has obviously been well loved by its makers for years. This one has been sewn into the shape of a blouse (as opposed to the normal rectangular huipil shape)
Width is 24 x Length 23.5 inches. The sleeve openings are narrow at 4.5" long.
We have an expert seamstress on staff here so any alterations you may want can be done!
