This is a wonderful ceremonial Churrancho huipil. This one was hand woven on a backstrap loom in two well matched cotton base panels that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring various zoomorphic motifs. Circa 1980.
This is a ceremonial huipil with a wonderful feel and drape.
