These necklaces are called chachales. They are ceremonial necklaces used by people in the Mayan cultures of Guatemala. Chachal means necklace in the k'che language and is also a reference to the sound these make when they move.

Beautiful necklace of Guatemalan jade and guatemalita, designed as replicas of old beads worn by Frida Kahlo. Sterling silver hook closure. The beads are primarily guatemalita, a jadeite indigenous only to Guatemala, and its accented with a few pieces of Guatemalan jade.
