Fine Vintage Kantha Quilt from Bengal, India. Textile Art. 4249

Of all of the textiles that I have been fortunate enough to meet in my life these fine vintage kantha quilts are hands down my favorite. We've hand selected these from piles and piles fo kantha quilts in India. The artistic composition and craftsmanship of these quilts is incredible. They are made of many layers of repurposed saris and dhotis and the wear through of the top layer adds a beautiful texture and complexity to these pieces.
These are made by women for their families and above all, beyond the composition and the craftsmanship and time that has gone into them, they exude care and love.
The quilt measures 56 inches x 87 inches.
