Wonderful shawl from Chamula, Chiapas. This garment is handwoven from the little sheep that are raised in small flocks there, spun on small top style spindles and then hand embroidered. In addition to looking great it is warm and super practical. We love a poncho.
The wool that goes to make this shawls is raised locally and spun on small top style spindles. This was purchased from the woman that made it.
Beautiful tassels made with silk, cotton and beads from Afghanistan. These are heavy and of high quality. They are old and rare and hard to find. I've searched for some time to come across a handful of really nice ones here.
I love these as wall and door adornments.
They measure about 24 inches.
