This wrap is a fine example of a Colotenango corte that has been repurposed into a gorgeous wrap. The piece is hand woven of a wonderful thick and plush rayon locally known as aleman. It is prized for its drape. The embroidery is impeccably done with very complex techniques. It represents months of work.
Satin handcrafted "un" traditional blouse from the Tzotzil Mayan village of San Juan Chamula. I'm told these take a month to make. They require a great deal of skill because of the fineness of the detail. This comes from my own personal collection. I love the soft metallic look of the material and the palette of the embroidery.
I love the cut and the overall look. Very stylish

This is a wonderful ceremonial Churrancho huipil. This one was hand woven on a backstrap loom in two well matched cotton base panels that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring various zoomorphic motifs. Circa 1980.
This is a ceremonial huipil with a wonderful feel and drape.
This huipil is in excellent condition apart from the a couple of light yellow spots. I have not tried to remove these.

These are great year round. In the winter I wear them over a light sweater and they are cozy.
