This beautiful post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in cotton. This beautiful huipil is in excellent condition. Please note that some of the color of the embroidery has run onto the base.
These are great year round. In the winter I wear them over a light sweater and they are cozy.

This poncho come from the Highlands of Chiapas, a village called San Andres Larrainzar. Not a traditional garment but a completely fabulous modern design using the traditional San Andres Larrainzar style of weaving. Wonderful color way.
