This is a very cool and unusual huipil with sleeves! T Hand woven on a back strap loom in two predominantly red cotton panels covered by a grid of stripes in various colors including a few metallic stripes. The sleeves are of the same fabric. The base material is decorated with supplementary brocade featuring several complex universal diamond designs. Traditional collar and cuffs. This tailoring is unique to Santiago Chimaltenango huipils and they are one of only two huipil styles in Guatemala that have sleeves. These huipils are increasingly rare and this is a fine example. Excellent condition
measures 21 inches across the chest, 21 inches long. The sleeves are 1/2 or 3/4 sleeves.
This is a gorgeous handwoven huipil from the Costa Chica of Oaxaca. The huipil is woven of hand spun cotton and the weave is a of traditional design. The the brown is the natural color of the coyuchi cotton. Huipiles from this region are difficult to come by and this is a fabulous example.

Wonderful hand-embroidered dress from the Balochi people of Afghanistan. The cut is perfect and the embroidery is fabulous. The ultimate boho dress!
41" long and 17" wide across the chest under the armpits. The material is a nice quality chiffon.
Most of these dresses come well loved. It is not uncommon for them to have small burn holes from cooking fire embers or loose embroidery threads. Please expect that. It is part of what makes them wonderful and the price is adjusted to account for overall condition.
