Wonderful shawl from Chamula, Chiapas. This garment is handwoven from the little sheep that are raised in small flocks there, spun on small top style spindles and then hand embroidered.
In addition to looking great it is warm and super practical. We love a poncho.
The wool that goes to make this shawls is raised locally and spun on small top style spindles.
This was purchased from the woman that made it.

Probably rayon but nice enough that it may have silk content (Uzbekistan makes beautiful silk velvet. The perfect cool weather dress. Long sleeves and the generous cut allows for layers underneath. Could also be worn as a tunic with pants underneath.
